MELBOURNE EVENTS ARE BACK!
Thursday October 13 | 5:00PM - 9:00PM | SoHigh Gallery, 143a Chapel St, Windsor VIC 3181
I know, I know... it feels as though The League has dropped off the face of the Earth and has been on hiatus for a while.
In fact, it's been two-and-a-half years since our last real-life, in person event. Whaaat!
Yes, we're finally crawling out from under that rock with renewed energy to bring all of us together again.
"Comeback" - to return to life or vitality.
Why "Comeback"? The last few years have brought in a lot of change and challenges that we really couldn't prepare for. Well for us at The League, gave us some time to take a breather and see what calls to us. We initially started this community 12 years ago as there was a calling for bringing young female entrepreneurs together and over the years that's shifted to bringing women with similar mindsets to connect and to feel inspired to bring out their own extraordinary.
With a fresh outlook and a yearning to see old familiar faces and make new friends, we're coming-back with an in-person event to feel that addictive buzz of inspiration and possibility.
So please buckle in and join us as we have open-hearted conversations on how women have been able to adapt to change, reinvent themselves and come back in a way they've never imagined. Some have closed businesses, changed careers or built a new brand. What they've done though, is nothing short of extraordinary.
Hosted By - Mini Latif, Founder of My Julie and Sheryl Thai, Co-founder League of Extraordinary Women.
Included on the night:
Drink on arrival from Sip & Enjoy, Melbourne's first non-alcoholic beverage bottle shop
Nibbles provided (vegan, gluten-free available)
Famous hot fries from Lord of The Fries
VIP Ticket holders will receive a gift bag (valued over $200)
Introducing The Market Hub!
On the night, you’ll be able to connect and shop at fellow women founder market stalls. From business services,
Why should you make an appearance?
If you've been (like us) on a bit of a hiatus from connecting with new friends, this is a gentle way to get back out there and mingle. If you're an OG League follower, you'll know that feeling of walking into the room and feeling completely at ease, meeting new faces and then leaving jacked up on excitement and inspiration.
For those that have never been to one of our events, this is a whole different feeling - you'll find that everyone is so open and easy to connect with. You'll feel the buzz of inspiration crawl up your neck as you listen to our speakers talk openly about life and business.
Grab your girlfriends, sisters and work wives for a night of inspiration, connection and a vino or two!
GUEST SPEAKERS
Priscilla Hajiantoni | Founder and Director of Bangn Body
With Forbes Asia 30 under 30 title under her belt, sales amassing over $8M+ in just two years, stocking her products in Mecca and creating a cult following of hundreds and thousands over her original yellow tube product, Bangn Body launched into the world with nothing less than a bang!
It's truly a full circle moment as we invite Priscilla to speak at one of our events as when she launched in 2019 she sponsored our Run The World conference with her tubes of skin goodness. Having invested every penny of her life savings into her first product, she had no idea how that would play out. Now 3 years on, she's grown her business to great heights - but none of that comes without challenges especially having to quickly adapt during pandemic times. She'll be sharing some insights on those challenges and how she managed to comeback from times of crisis and turn challenges into triumphs.
MINDI CHISHOLM | DIRECTOR of ZAFINO
From an early age Mindi was always making something! Back as a young girl and through her per-teenager years she was into art and loved nothing more than creating! Her entrepreneurial spirit meant sewing, painting, drawing, and selling her creations at the local markets and to family and friends.
Juggling being a mother to 3 young children and starting the brand, Zafino was founded in 2010. Sitting up late at night tapping out emails to makers and perfecting her creations, those initial years would allow her to learn her new craft.
There are two sides to social media - the viral, exciting, positive side where it can catapult your business to new heights and then there is the darker, sinister, ‘cancel-culture’ side. What happens when you make a mistake? What happens when communication goes wrong and your intentions are misconstrued? What happens when the heart of your business is put under the microscope and overnight, you start to lose trust from hundreds of your customers? Mindi will be sharing her experience of living through social media crisis management and lessons learnt. It will be an eye-opener for anyone using social media.
JORDYN EVANS | FOUNDER OF MINGLE SEASONING
At 25, Jordyn quit her job, sold her car, moved back home and started her business in her family’s kitchen. She’s the “Spice Girl” that started a brand called Mingle Seasoning after she wasn’t able to find seasoning that didn’t contain high levels of salt and sugar, preservatives, and hidden artificial ingredients off the supermarket shelves.
At the start of her business journey she took part in some world class incubators and accelerator programs including Chobani Yoghurt's Incubator and Melbourne University's Accelerator, which set her up well to grow her business into a disruptive food brand.
Now Mingle Seasoning is a multimillion-dollar company stocked in Woolworths, Coles and over 2500 supermarket shelves across Australia & NZ. But it wasn’t a straightforward journey to success. It has been a 6-year marathon for Jordyn with lots of sacrifices, wearing multiple hats and mistakes. From a costly labelling mistake that almost cost her her business, to burnout and loss of relationships which prompted her to take on business partners in her 3rd year of business - Jordyn will be sharing her journey of resilience and ‘comeback’ with us.
