There's really no need to rush

It’s okay. Take your time.

Take your time to realise what it is that you really want.

Take your time to slow down, relax deeply into your breath.

Breathe out all the expectations and heaviness that’s on your shoulders.

You do not need to be more…anything.

You do not need to sprint and exert yourself to exhaustion simply because others are.

Sprint only because you feel inspired to.

Sometimes we can mistake the need to go faster just so we can run away from our fears.

We rush to get something done so we don’t need to face the scary self-growth that comes hand in hand with slowing down and becoming more aware of the person we’re becoming.

We rush because we want to skim over the hasty mistakes and lessons. We just want to keep our eye on the holy grail of a ‘finish line’. Thinking that when we arrive there, that’s where all the glory lies.

The truth is, when we zip past the finish line, yes that moment of elation washes over us. But as quickly as it arrives, it also departs. It is but a fleeting moment in time.

And then, we find that next finish line to sprint towards.

Before you sprint ahead and rush towards the next finish line - that next big project, milestone or goal, ask yourself - am I exhausted?

Am I enjoying this process? Am I being way too hard on myself?

Am I more miserable and stressed out than feeling joyful, excited, inspired?

If you're feeling miserable, then allow yourself to slow down.

No one will think you’re not working hard enough. You are.

No one will think you’re a failure. You’re not.

Exceptional things will always take time.

I was inspired to write this note today after we did an IG Live with Maeva Heim. For those that have been following us for a while will remember her name from a few years back when Maeva was part of the League team. Two weeks ago she launched her brand Bread Beauty Supply. This idea/project/brand has been ticking away for FOUR years. Not four months, four years

Head to our Instagram to watch and listen to Maeva's inspiring journey on how she persevered, took her time and stayed true to herself to launch a haircare brand that is changing the world for Black women and WOC. Listen to how she was able to launch her brand straight into Sephora in the US, participated in the Sephora Accelerate program last year and managed to secure a good chunk of funding from Imaginary Ventures (!!!).

Her products will be available in Australia real soon but please do give her a follow and show her some sisterhood support. We’re so thrilled to see her soar and make a mark in this world!

Stay Peachy,
